Thai AirAsia has teamed up with Thailand Post to enter the domestic express mail market with EMS Super Speed is being piloted on three routes from mid-July: Chiang Mai, Phuket and Hat Yai. Pitched at two specific markets, small and medium Enterprises and online shopping, ‘EMS Super Speed’ will see mail submitted by 10.30am flown by Thai AirAsia on its 2pm flights to three domestic destinations. There it is handed over to postal officials who have it delivered on the same day. The new service is a substantial step up on the popular Express Mail Service (EMS) run by Thailand Post. EMS Super Speed aims to be able to put the delivery in the hands of the receiver by 17.30 for Bangkok and 16.30 in other cities when picked up at the airport and by no later than 20.30 at home, AirAsia said in a statement. Maximum delivery weight is 20 kilograms.
