Air Canada’s low cost leisure airline, Rouge, will be able to boost cargo. To be launched on July 1, Rouge will facilitate cargo movement. According to Lise-Marie Turpin, vice president of Air Canada Cargo, the carrier will connect to Edinburgh, Venice and Athens “and we will be loading cargo onto all of these aircraft”.

The Edinburgh and Venice connections will open up new trade lanes for the carrier. In addition, Rouge will also take over Air Canada’s flights to Punta Cana, Puerto Plata and Samana, Dominican Republic; Cayo Coco, Holguin and Varadero, Cuba; Liberia, Costa Rica; and Kingston, Jamaica.
