AAPA: Air cargo gains in November 2012

Slight improvement on the weak demand through the year

Preliminary traffic figures for the month of November 2012 released by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) showed a slight improvement in air cargo demand.

International air cargo carried by airlines based in the Asia Pacific region, as measured in freight tonne kilometre (FTK) terms, was 0.9 per cent above the levels of November last year, a slight improvement on the weak trend in 2012. Combined with a 1.9 per cent decline in offered freight capacity, the average international air cargo load factor was 1.8 percentage points higher, at 67.7 per cent.
