Lufthansa, Turkish talk to forge stronger ties

Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines have started talks to forge a stronger partnership than the one they are in at present. Recently, German chancellor Angela Merkel and Turkey’s prime minister Tayyip Erdogan had discussions about a partnership between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. Turkey, it was reported, had agreed to the German proposal to a joint management of the two carriers.

Lufthansa chairman and chief executive Christoph Franz also confirmed the partnership possibilities and the fact that the airlines were in “ongoing talks to see if there any other possibilities of deepening the cooperation”.
