Changi woos cargo operators
To revive the sector, the airport has reduced landing fees for scheduled freighter flights
December 20, 2012
In a bid to boost the air cargo sector – falling steadily over the last year — Changi Airport Group (CAG) has increased its support for the sector. For the first six months of 2013, rebates for landing fees at Changi Airport will be raised to 50 per cent for all scheduled freighter flights. This additional initiative, amounting to $3.7 million add up to $16.4 million of support since the start of FY2012/13 (year ending March 31, 2013).
In March 2012, CAG had announced a $12.3 million package for cargo comprising a 20 per cent landing fee rebate for freighter flights, partnership funding support for new cargo development initiatives, as well as up to 20 per cent rental rebates for cargo tenants leasing CAG cargo facilities at the Changi Airfreight Centre2.
