Air Canada has chalked out an ambitious plan of expansion that will include more flights to Asia from June 2013. Described as the carrier’s “most far-reaching international expansion of its schedule in its 75-year history”, Air Canada had planned flights to Beijing, Seoul and Narita, Japan. If it got the green signal, it would also start services to Istanbul.

Air Canada has been steadily losing money – it had a profit in one year out of the last six – prompting it to seek measures to cut costs.
