Gulf Air’s Majali steps down

He was responsible for restructuring the struggling Gulf carrier

The chief executive of Gulf Air, Samer Majali, has put in his papers and will be stepping down at the end of this year after three years with the airline. This was confirmed in a statement from the carrier: “The board of directors of Gulf Air has accepted the resignation of the CEO, Samer Majali, submitted earlier this year following the appointment of the Gulf Air board of directors in mid-November.” Majali had been restructuring the struggling airline. He was also responsible for renegotiating the carrier’s 2008 orders of Airbus A330s and Boeing 787s.
