United Parcel Service Inc (UPS) has reported a third-quarter profit of $469 million – a 56 per cent drop in earnings from a year earlier — though package volumes have risen. According to chief financial officer Kurt Kuehn, e-commerce “was absolutely the primary driver of the volume growth” in the US while business-to-business volume was “slightly negative”.
