It will be difficult for countries to reach a consensus over the European Union emissions trading scheme (EU ETS) aviation carbon tax, according to director general of Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) Andrew Herdman. Reaching an agreement was crucial since it would help maintain the growth of the industry. He said the only way out would be to simply postpone “the implementation of the scheme to allow more time to develop a comprehensive global solution”.
