Cathay sees rise in cargo demand

Cathay Pacific and Dragonair carried 134,584 tonnes of cargo and mail in September, an increase of 2.4 per cent compared to September 2011.  However, cargo and mail load factor was down by two percentage points to 62.8 per cent. Capacity decreased by 0.3 per cent, while cargo and mail tonne kilometres flown dropped by 3.3 per cent. For the year to date, tonnage has declined by 8.3 per cent against a capacity drop of 4.9 per cent.
