Turkish Airlines is planning to buy six wide-body aircraft like the A380 or the B 747-8 – bigger than its largest B777s in its fleet of 186 planes — and a tender will be floated by the end of the year if its board decides to go ahead with the purchase which will be done from a single company. Chairman Hamdi Topcu said that the tender terms would be given to Airbus and Boeing for the six planes. The carrier is also keen to acquire B777s and A300-330 planes, Topcu said.
