Apple’s iPhone 5 could be a saviour, in the short term, for the sagging air cargo industry, according to HSBC Global Research. The two carriers that will make the most of the iconic smartphone – it will be sent out to 100 countries by the end of the year in what is being termed as the the fastest international rollout for an iPhone – will be EVA Air and Cathay Pacific because both have the capacity and serve Chongqing, Chengdu and Zhengzhou either directly or through the Hong Kong hub.
