IAG sees one per cent dip in cargo tonnage

While BA Cargo has gone ahead, partner Iberia has witnessed 16.4 per cent decline in cargo traffic

IAG Cargo (the cargo wing of International Airlines Group, the merged British Airways-Iberia carrier) witnessed a one per cent decline in tonnage, year-over-year. Revenue slipped 0.3 per cent to $367.8 million (299 million euros) in the three months to June 30 from $371.5 million in the year-earlier period. While BA’s cargo traffic rose 3.2 per cent in July from a year ago, Iberia’s went down 16.4 per cent, affecting IAG’s combined volume. Incidentally, IAG was ahead of Lufthansa – with a 9.3 per cent dip in the second quarter — and Air France-KLM with a 4.4 per cent decline.
