BA looks for partner to fly to Australia

Move comes after Qantas ties up with Emirates

British Airways (BA) is looking for a partner to touch Australia – if its tie-up with Qantas ends — and it could be a Chinese carrier. The names that are doing the rounds are Cathay Pacific, China Southern or China Eastern. If the tie-up goes through, BA will be sending its air traffic to Australia through Shanghai instead of Singapore as it does with Qantas now and save half an hour on the London-Sydney routes. BA’s move comes on the heels of a tie-up between Emirates and Qantas.
