Jettainer, a leading international service provider for ULD management, presented a technological innovation at the transport logistic event in Shanghai in June. The ‘JettAPP’ application –
programmed for mobile devices based on both the Apple and Android systems – will make it easier to track and trace ULDs in future. It allows customers to determine the location of a container and even rebook it in just a few steps: The mobile device first scans the bar code on the container in question. The ULD history then becomes visible and makes it possible to check where the cargo container is located. If the container is not at the right place, the app allows it to be rebooked to a different site, thus preventing the logging of any incorrect information.
The “JettAPP” picks up all kinds of barcodes including QR and RFID/NFC and the function myTasks then allows users to directly place job orders. Other uses for the app like stocktaking are being
developed, said Jettainer.
“The JettAPP allows companies to request and log information about a container directly on the spot,” said Alexander Pluemacher, MD of Jettainer. “Above all, this improves the data quality which not only means enormous savings in terms of time, but also an increase in efficiency. Other functions like damage
reporting or flights movements are conceivable in the next version.”
