FedEx Corp’s contract of $1 billion a year with the US Postal Service ends in September 2013. When it comes up for bidding, FedEx will face competitor United Parcel Service (UPS) which is keen to take up the business of domestic air transportation for first-class, priority and express mail. While FedEx is looking “forward to continuing our excellent relationship”, according to spokesman Jess Bunn, UPS spokesman Norman Black pointed out that “UPS has informed the US Postal Service that it definitely intends to bid on this work”.
