EADS EFW redelivers 5 aircraft in June

Wide-body freighter conversion
specialist EADS EFW has seen an
extremely busy month in June at its
Dresden facility. EFW redelivered five
aircraft to customers, including: An
A300-600 passenger to freighter (P2F)
conversion for European Air Transport
(DHL), the fifth of eighteen A300-600
conversions contracted by DHL; two
A300-600 P2Fs belonging to Qatar
Airways, following heavy maintenance
checks and service bulletin incorporation;
and an A300-B4 freighter belonging to
MNG Airlines of Turkey, which visited
Dresden for incorporation of certain
structural service bulletins.

The company said the three redeliveries
illustrate EFW’s stated intention of
diversifying its P2F business with
increased activity in the MRO business
area, in so doing leveraging the core
competences attained over 15 years of
P2F conversions. EFW’s MRO capabilities
extend over the entire Airbus family
and now include cabin interior work.
The company has delivered more than
170 converted freighter aircraft to 39
customers worldwide.
