30 per cent fuel efficient 767 A310 Boeing FedEx fuel costs MD-10

US plane maker Boeing has at last been able to get its first freighter order this year. FedEx will buy 19 767 cargo freighters that will be delivered from 2015 to 2019, replacing MD-10s and A310s. The order has a catalog value of $3.3 billion.

The new planes will reduce FedEx’s fuel costs: the 767s will be about 30 per cent more fuel-efficient than the MD10 jets that will be replaced.
