Blue Dart Express DHL five-pronged strategy Frank Appel India plans Indian domestic courier

DHL has worked out a five-pronged strategy for India, according to chief executive Frank Appel. In a report in Indian business daily Mint, Appel was quoted as saying that the company would develop free trade houses, create specialised industry verticals, offer products specific to small enterprises, cross-sell DHL brands and attract talent. However, Deutsche Post (DP)would keep domestic courier Blue Dart Express, in which it has 81 per cent stake, as a separate company. DP is also keen to invest more in India if the country introduced an uniform tax structure and upgraded its infrastructure.
