Cargo volumes through Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) slipped 0.4 per cent year-over-year in March, to 368,000 tonnes, despite a 5.2 per cent rise in overall aircraft movements which rose substantially by 28 per cent over a month earlier.

The year-on-year decline in cargo throughput was due primarily to a 4.5 per cent year-over-year drop in imports, as exports registered 3 per cent growth, according to the Airport Authority Hong Kong. Cargo throughput to and from Southeast Asia outperformed other regions.
