Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) Group reported an increase in its 9-month net earnings to CHF 454 million (US$518.8 million) from CHF 449 million in the prior-year period.

Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) Group reported an increase in its 9-month net earnings to CHF 454 million (US$518.8 million) from CHF 449 million in the prior-year period. Operational result or EBITDA for the period totaled CHF 728 million, down by 2.4 per cent from CHF 746 million a year earlier. Turnover for the first nine months of 2011 amounted to CHF 14.60 billion versus CHF 15.18 billion in the comparable period, a decrease of 3.8 per cent. During the first nine months of 2011, Kuehne + Nagel increased its air freight volumes by 14.5 per cent and its sea freight volume by 11.4 per cent in the period, although the company noted that the growth in international airfreight considerably slowed in the last few months.
