Record setting 50 B777ER order for Emirates

Emirates Airline has once again demonstrated its clear intent to be a major force in commercial aviation with an announcement that it has placed a US$18 billion order for 50 B777-300ERs plus options for an additional 20.

Emirates Airline has once again demonstrated its clear intent to be a major force in commercial aviation with an announcement that it has placed a US$18 billion order for 50 B777-300ERs plus options for an additional 20 – making it Boeing’s largest ever commercial aircraft order by value. The options for 20 additional airplanes is valued at $8 billion.  With the Emirates order, Boeing’s 2011 net order book for the 777 currently stands at 182 aircraft.
