AmSafe Industries, a leading provider of engineered restraint systems for aviation, defense, and specialty vehicle markets, has announced that Nippon Cargo Airlines. (NCA) is the latest customer to select AmSafe’s new lightweight cargo pallet nets for use in its cargo programmes. Technologically advanced materials play an important role in helping the aviation industry to reduce weight, decrease fuel consumption and lessen CO2 emissions. The AmSafe lightweight pallet net made with Dyneema fiber enables safety-critical equipment to be both lighter and stronger without compromising safety or performance, according to AmSafe. AmSafe cargo pallet nets made solely of Dyneema fiber are nearly sixty-percent lighter than a standard polyester net and are easy to handle. The Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency have approved the design and performance of AmSafe pallet nets which have a lifetime of five years.
