Turkish Airlines Board of Directors has given the go-ahead for the purchase of three more Airbus A300-200F freighters in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Turkish Cargo was one of the early adopters of the midsize A330-200F when it added the first aircraft to the fleet in September 2010. The second A330F is set to join to the fleet in June 2011. After an increase of 32 per cent in cargo volumes in 2010 compared to a year earlier the cargo carrier is aiming to increase its market share and pick up the pace of expansion through more capacity expansion over the next few years, it said. Turkish Cargo continued its growth in 2011 recording continuous growth since the beginning of 2010, it saw volumes increase 17 per cent in the period of January-February over the same period a year earlier and 13 per cent in February over 2010.
