Damco, the logistics arm of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group and the 10th largest global supplier of forwarding and supply chain management (SCM) services has announced a significantly improved annual result compared to 2009. Damco’s Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) before restructuring and other one-off costs reached US$85 million, compared to $45 million in 2009. The EBIT margin rose to 3.2 per cent compared to 2.3 per cent in 2009. In 2011 Damco said it will continue to focus on organic growth and will invest to grow in specific industry segments including air freight and emerging markets.
