Emirates SkyCargo has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai World trade facilitator Dubai Trade, which proposes allowing users of Dubai Trade’s website portal to directly access SkyCargo airfreight services through the website, while payment for the services is made directly to the cargo service provider. “This MoU is a well-targeted initiative that will serve as a stepping stone towards the full-scale integration of sea-air cargo movement and, consequently, to further strengthen the competitive advantage of Dubai as the region’s leading trading hub,” Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, group chief executive officer, Dubai World, & chairman, Dubai Trade, said. The MoU also opens the doors to future integration of SkyCargo’s customer database with Dubai Trade’s user database to enable a more seamless supply chain experience.
