Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd. (HACTL) said it handled 254,552 tonnes of air cargo in November, up 5.6 per cent from a year earlier, as the global economic recovery boosted cargo traffic. HACTL, which handles about 80 per cent of the air cargo that passes through Hong Kong International Airport, said in a statement it handled 2.6 million tonnes of cargo in the January-November period, up 26.7 per cent from a year earlier. The company handled 146,312 tonnes of cargo exports in November, up 4.5 per cent from a year earlier, and 59,531 tonnes of cargo imports, down 1.7 per cent, while its transshipment volume rose 19.9 per cent to 48,709 tonnes. HACTL is jointly owned by Jardine Matheson & Co., Wharf (Holdings) Ltd., Hutchison Port Holdings Ltd., and China National Aviation Corp.
