Changi sees 13% year to date cargo growth

Singapore Changi Airport registered 162,400 tonnes of air cargo throughput in October 2010, an increase of 5.2 per cent year-on-year. Year-to-date (January to October), saw more than 1.5 million tonnes of airfreight handled at Changi, up 13 per cent. More than 3.58 million passenger movements were recorded during October, a growth of 7.9 per cent y-o-y. From January to October 2010, passenger movements grew 14.5 per cent to almost 34.4 million, with low cost carriers accounting for about 22 per cent of total passenger movements. Aircraft movements were up 7.2 per cent to 22,488 for the month of October and a total of 217,382 aircraft movements were recorded from January to October, a growth of 9.9 per cent.
