Singapore’s Changi Airport has its first air-side perishable handling centre for the handling of import, export and transit perishable cargo. Built at a cost of S$16.5 million (US$12.7 million) the new Coolport facility has multitiered temperature zones and an annual handling capacity of 250,000 tonnes, with scope for expansion of the facility from the current 8,000 sq m to 14,000 sq m.
