Swiss International Airlines has added three new flights to Zurich from India – two additional flights from Delhi to the Swiss capital and one from Mumbai – starting 31 October. With the beginning of these three flights, Zurich has a daily direct flight from India. “With these additional flights, we respond to a very encouraging increase in demand and considerably strengthen our commitment to the Indian market,” Jean- Philippe Benoit, general manager India of Swiss International Air Lines. He said Indian customers had responded very favourably to its A330-300 service launched last year. Globally, Swiss will operate some 130 flights a week more in the winter 2010-11 schedule, with a total of 2,894 weekly flights. Swiss WorldCargo has reported a significant increase in cargo load factor based on revenue tonne kilometres, posting an average of 80.4 per cent over the past nine months compared to 67 per cent for the same period in 2009.

Swiss WorldCargo recorded a cargo load factor of 77.8 per cent in September, marking a gain of 3.9 percentage points on a prior-year comparison.
