DHL Global Forwarding Japan, the freight and forwarding division of DHL, has announced it has opened a new office at the Haneda Airport (Tokyo International Airport) effective 21 October. The move is aimed at capturing anticipated growth in freight movements through the country on the back of the internationalisation of Haneda Airport which includes 24-hour operations. The new Haneda office adds to those already in operation at Narita Airport, Kansai Airport and Chubu Airport. “With the internationalisation of Haneda Airport, businesses in Japan can look forward to a strong boost in international air connectivity and cargo transport capabilities,” said Kelvin Leung, CEO, DHL Global Forwarding, North Asia Pacific. “As the first international player to set up an office at Haneda Airport and with international trade on an upward trend worldwide, expanding our service capabilities with a new office at Haneda Airport will give DHL Global Forwarding a first mover advantage in meeting the needs of our customers in the region.”
