Nepal forwarders celebrate annual Cargo Day

The Nepal Freight Forwarders Association (NEFFA) celebrated its 16th Cargo Day programme on 29 July 2010 at Kathmandu, Nepal with the theme: "Exports Promotion – A national Priority" and saw the Rt. Honorable Vice President of Nepal, Pramanda Jha inaugurating the function. Among the highlights of the event, NEFFA’s president Rameswor K.C. detailed the current problems faced by freight forwarders in Nepal before proceeding to the awards portion of the evening.

Vice President Pramanada Jha presented the Nepal Trade Facilitation Award to Purushottam Ojha, secretary Ministry of Commerce and Supplies for his remarkable contribution for Nepalese Trade facilitations. The award was established and dedicated in memory of the Late Namgyal Lama, former president of NEFFA. Similarly Rabindra Man Singh, managing director of Everest De Cargo P. Ltd. and Shyam Prasad Dahal director of Department of Customs were both awarded with NEFFA Annual Awards 2010.

Similarly, Qatar Airways, Thai Airways International and Gulf Air have been awarded first, second and third highest tonnage cargo carriers award respectively for the year 2009 for online carriers. Amongst offline carriers, Emirates Sky Cargo has been awarded with NEFFA Annual Award.
