With an investment of around €10 million, a freight forwarding facility is being erected on a total area of 30,500 sqm that will consist of a 2,500 sqm transshipment hall, a logistics warehouse covering an area of 1,800 sqm and a 1,200 sqm office building designed to accommodate 130 employees. The terminal will be located at Klagenfurt airport and will have its own rail siding.
Schenker invests in new air logistics terminal
DB Schenker Logistics has announced that it is investing in a new logistics terminal at Klagenfurt airport in Austria that is scheduled to go into operation in spring 2011. The aim is to use the terminal to further expand its European land transport operations in the regional Carinthia market and also to secure its position in air and ocean freight as it moves to tap what it says are the significant rise in volumes over the last few years.
