To date, FedEx Express has already taken delivery of six B777Fs and four of them have already been introduced into service, two of which are operating on routes between its Memphis hub and Shanghai/Hong Kong.
The aircraft provide Fedex with an additional 6.3 tonnes of payload and 2,100 nautical-miles of extra range compared with the MD-11Fs, which had been FedEx’s primary long-haul aircraft. The 777Fs will also save two hours off the company’s cut-off time for drop-offs and reduce emissions by 18 per cent.
