Leading Czech logistics company CS Cargo has bought CS Express, one of the three largest Czech express delivery providers, CTK Business News reported. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed. The companies signed an agreement on a gradual increase of CS Cargo’s stake in CS Express to 100 per cent. The company will continue to operate as an independent unit, but will be able to use CS Cargo’s facilities, such as information system and the system of central purchasing. A new centre for handling express deliveries is set to be established next year. CS Expres is CS Cargo’s second acquisition in the Czech Republic this year as the company had already bought rival JTC Transcentrum. CS Expres shipped 690,000 deliveries weighing 73,000 tonnes in total last year. The company, established in 1992, specialises in the shipping of deliveries weighing less than three tonnes. CS Cargo offers logistics and transport services in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia and Germany. It generated sales amounting to US$210.2 million.
