US-based Dependable Global Express (DGX), an international freight forwarder and logistics provider, is expanding its Asian operations with a new, full service facility in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.
The new facility will handle ocean imports and exports both for container loads and break-bulk shipping. Through its air division, Dependable AirCargo Express (DAX), the forwarder will move air freight in all weight breaks.
In announcing the new facility, Brad Dechter, President of DGX, stated, "while Indonesia does not receive the same attention as many countries on the Asian continent, the island nation has one of the fastest growing economies in that part of the world. We believe there is substantial ocean and air business to be generated by DGX and DAX with our own, full time professional staffs."
Dechter said the opening of the new office in Indonesia "is the latest step in our strategy of planned growth in Asia. The new Indonesia facility complements our existing owned and operated offices in China, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Islands of American Samoa and Tonga with a soon to be opened facility in the Philippines."
DGX’ new Indonesian office, its 10th owned and operated facility in Asia and the South Pacific, is managed by Melcher Klink, a veteran cargo executive with extensive experience in Asian trade and commerce.
