Royal Jordanian announced that it will start operating regular nonstop flights between Amman and Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, effective 17 August. Royal Jordanian president/ CEO Samer Majali said that the twice-weekly operation will service the active commercial movement between the two countries.
He added that the company conducted feasibility studies to open this route, particularly that Ukraine enjoys adistinguished geographic position in Eastern Europe.
RJ will operate its Embraer 195 aircraft between the two cities, departing from Amman Sundays and Wednesdays. Kievis the second station RJ opened this year,after in augurating its first non stop flightto Hong Kong in January.
Kiev, with its 3 million people, is an important industrial, scientific, educational and cultural centre of Eastern Europe. It is home to manyhigh-tech industries, higher education institutions and world-famous historical landmarks.
Qatar Airways adds another four A321
Qatar Airways has signed a MoU for the purchase of four Airbus A321 aircraft at the Farnborough Airshow. “Concluding this deal with Airbus for the additional A321 aircraft will further assist Qatar Airways in the rapid development of its regional network,” said Qatar Airway’s CEO Akbar Al Baker.
“Qatar Airways’ young and fuel efficient fleet of Airbus A320 family of aircraft continues to support the airline’s dramatic growth at a time when the airline industry as a whole is struggling with the impact of prevailing high fuel prices,” he added.
The Doha-based airline’s current in service fleet consists of a total of 19 A320 Family variants, one A300-600R, three A300-600 freighters, 31 A330s, and four A340-600s.
