Former Eagle Global Logistics (EGL) founder and CEO Jim Crane has announced that he is re-entering the freight forwarding business effective by end-August, with the formation of Crane Worldwide Logistics. The new company, which will grow rapidly through acquisitions, will be headquartered in Houston, Texas and is expected to generate more than US$1 billion in revenue over the next 5-7 years.
Crane, who is founder and CEO of Crane Capital, will serve as chairman of the board and is joined by several former colleagues in the new venture.The intention is to operate globally with company-owned operations in more than 40 countries, concentrating in Asia/Indian sub-continent, the Americas and Europe.
