Singapore Airlines cargo unit said that it has received notification of alleged infringements from the European Commission in an investigation into airfreight surcharges and rates.

The European Union is investigating whether there were violations of EU competition law in connection with charges by air cargo carriers worldwide, Singapore Airlines Cargo said in thestatement.

"At this preliminary stage the Commission has not made findings of infringement, and the companies cannot assess any financial impact on Singapore Airlines Cargo, or SingaporeAirlines," the company said.
