Buoyed by the success of its FAPAA Awards, the Federation of Asia Pacific Aircargo Associations has decided to organise this event again this year, which honours respectively”The Most Friendly Airport for Cargo” and “Top Airline for Outstanding Service”. Earlier winners of the coveted awards included Singapore Airlines, Hong Kong International Airport, Changi Airport and Asia Air Terminals (AAT).
FAPAA said that the main reasoning behind the Awards is to help convey the message to airlines and airports that the aircargo forwarding industry is looking for overall quality performance in all key aspects of the aircargo transportation chain.
FAPAA member companies book almost 90 percent of the business that moves on airlines and through airports. Hence its in its interest as well to benchmark the airlines and airport performances.
Polling by the 16 individual members of the Federation has meanwhile started with results to reach the FAPAA Awards secretariat in Colombo by the middle of this month. After processing the documents with international auditors Ernst & Young the final results will beannounced on March 15, 2008.
