CAE Aviation has announced it is building an aviation training centre in Kuala Lumpur for maintenance technicians, pilots and cabin crews, as well as Airbus OEM training.
The facility will leverage the AirAsia Academy in Kuala Lumpur to create this Southeast Asia training hub.
In November, AirAsia announced that CAE would manage its Type Rating Training Organization for pilots at the AirAsia Academy, which is located at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The company will invest up to CAD$90 million over the next 10 years to keep pace with growing training requirements of the region.
This includes adding an Airbus A320 and an A330 simulator, as well as advanced training aids, simulator-based training curriculum and other education resources as needed, to the new facility. The AirAsia Academy already has three simulators (two owned by AirAsia, one by CAE).
CAE has 24 aviation training centres around the world.
