Cargoitalia has signed a wet-lease agreement with US-based Tradewinds Airlines for two Boeing 747-200Fs.
The aircraft will be used to fly North Atlantic services from Italy with destinations including Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Houston and Mexico from 7 October following the delivery of the first aircraft. The second aircraft is due to commence operations following delivery on 14 October.
The two new aircraft will boost Cargoitalia’s fleet to four dedicated freighters. The current DC-10 will continue to operate on routes to the Middle East and India.
The airline’s MD-11, leased from Gemini, will also continue operating services to Shanghai via India, with frequencies increased to three per week.
