China and Hong Kong recorded the largest number of hits at the RedBerrytrack. com web portal of any country between July-December last year – 1.62 million in total, representing 40 per cent of the total shipment tracking hits according to Pat Roche, RedBerry’sInternational Marketing Director.

“Last year, we were aware that the total number of shipment tracking hits at RedBerry was approaching 50 million. Since then we have had an average 1.3 million hits per month,” said Roche in a presentation to FAPAA members.

“As we did not have a clue as to who was using our facility, we started a process of having the users identify themselves. “We found out that the largest number of users was from China – 33,000 IP addresses every month,” Roche said, adding that the number of users including forwarders, master loaders, co-loaders, consolidators and integrators was growing very rapidly.

Roche said the India sub-continent had 606,199 hits while Europe and Scandinavia had 627,689 hits, each representingnearly 15 percent of total hits.

The Americas had 672,243 hits and Asia 365,664 hits, representing 16 and 9 per cent of total hits at the global aircargo shipment tracking service.

Africa and Middle East recorded 52,310 hits and Oceania 154,995 hits, representing 1 and 4 percent of total hits at RedBerrytrack.com. Roche said the RedBerrytrack.com website, which has so far achieved 60 million hits since it started as a by-product of its software business in 1998, plans to launch a series of new features and benefi ts for its freightforwarder users within the next year.
