Warehouse workers at the British arm of a Japanese logistics company went on strike for two days last month in a row over pay and changes to shift patterns, their union said. A total of 37 workers at Nippon Express Co’s Heathrow Airport warehouse began a two-day strike, the Unite union said. It follows an earlier 24-hour walkout last month.
Unite is unhappy with the offer of a 2.8 percent salary increase for its members and a change in shift patterns which, it claims, could lead to staff losing more than $2,000 a year. The workers involved handle cargo and drive trucks in the warehouse.
