The new facility was built in support of oil, gas, and mining companies operating in Kalimantan, which need reliable express and logistics services. Area manager of PT Birotika Semesta/DHL Express, Welty Tambunan said Kalimantan’s huge reserves of natural recourses– particularly SouthKalimantan province – haveturned it into one of Indonesia’sfastest-growing regions.

South Kalimantan’s highly valued natural resources, for instance crops and coal, will be exported via Banjarmasin as a major gateway to global markets. Tambunan added that the new service centre will also help boost foreign investors’ trust to invest in Kalimantan. – Siktus Harson
