Leading aircraft lessor AWAS has completed the delivery of its first aircraft to SwiftAir, an airline that specialises in long and short term contracts for major global logistics operators including DHL, FedEx, TNT and UPS.

SwiftAir has leased a B737- 300F from AWAS with a view to utilising the aircraft on operations for one of these integrators on its European network

AWAS and SwiftAir anticipate extending their partnership going forward as SwiftAir expands its B737-300F operations. SwiftAir presently operate 34 aircraft (both passenger and freighter versions) including Embraer 120F, ATR42/72, MD-83 and B727- 200F throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

According to SwiftAir’s director general, Fredrik Groth the lease contract presents an excellent growth opportunity for the company. The deal follows the recent announcement by AWAS that it has acquired Pegasus Aviation Finance.
