Australia-based Toll Group has offi cially opened its new Logistics Optimisation Centre (LOC) in the northern Melbourne suburb of Campbellfi eld, to support its automotive customers in Australia.

The 17,500 m2 centre is focused on providing a wide range of automotive logistics services to companies such as Ford, Toyota, Holden and a number of domestic and international components manufacturers and aftermarket suppliers.

Toll Group managing director Paul Little said that Toll constantly collaborates with its customers in developing industry solutions according to changing market demands.

“Included in our vision of the automotive sector is the development of similar optimisation facilities in China and India, which will further enhance our ability to offer even greater effi ciencies for the automotive sector, to further streamline the movement of parts and fi nished cars into the Australian market,” said Little.

Toll’s logistics optimisation centre is a key component of the overall solution, which tracks material throughout the entire supply chain. The centre minimises inventory and the costly expediting of material.
